Scots primary issues appeal for school uniforms to help Ukrainian war children

An Ayrshire primary school has issued an appeal for uniforms – so that Ukrainian child refugees can feel "welcomed and supported".

Heathfield Primary School, on Ayr's Heathfield Road, is opening its arms to a number of school-aged Ukrainian refugees who have been forced to flee their war-torn homeland with their families.

And now senior staff at the school are hoping to enlist the help of parents/carers and even former pupils to donate any unwanted school clothes (boys and girls) that will help benefit their new pupils.Those who also have Prestwick Academy uniforms that they no longer need are also being urged to get in touch.In a social media post, a school spokesperson said: “We need your help! “We are welcoming some Ukrainian families into our community.

We are looking for some uniforms to support their transition into school at Heathfield and Prestwick Academy.
