Scots music stars from Gun support Maggie's Lanarkshire fundraiser

A musician has raised nearly £14,000 for Maggie’s cancer caring centres thanks to a sold-out concert – at which he was joined on stage by stars from a top Scots band.Brian Stewart arranged the musical extravaganza featuring four bands in memory of his wife Marina, who sadly died of cancer on November 1 last year.His band Losferwords were joined on stage by surprise guests Paul McManus and Jools Gizzi from rock band Gun, who not only performed a song with them but match-funded the incredible total raised by those attending the performance to double the donation to the charity.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

Ticket sales, raffles and an online donations page raised a combined total of nearly £6700, and the Gun stars then added their “incredibly generous” match-funding donation of a further £7000 to boost the total for Maggie’s Lanarkshire in Airdrie.
