Scots mum pregnant with quadruplets begs council for move to two-bed house

A West Lothian mum who is pregnant with quadruplets is pleading with her local council to be moved from her two bedroom home.Arlene Mitchell, 34, who already has two children, has become riddled with anxiety at the thought of squeezing her large family into their current Fauldhouse home.Arlene's four little ones are due in 10 weeks time, but the mum admits the news of becoming a family of eight was a shock.

Having lost a girl during her pregnancy last year, Arlene was over the moon to find out that their family was due to grow againShe admits that the shock of having quadruplets has not really subsided since they made the discovery but says she now spends most of her time hunting for a new home.Arlene said: "We lost a girl during a pregnancy last year and were over the moon when we found out I was pregnant again.

My husband has two brothers that are twins and my brothers are also twins but I thought it was meant to skip a generation.“Our son is only three and he just keeps telling people ‘I’m having four’ while my daughter is just a typical 11-year-old full of cheek and attitude but they are both super excited although all of us are still in shock.

I don’t think it will sink in until I do my birthing plan in six weeks time.Speaking to Edinburgh Live, she said she is unable to fit new cots, car seats, high chairs and clothing into their current poky council home.She added: "To be honest we would take a four-bed or even three-bed house pretty much anywhere in West Lothian.
