Sign up to the weekly West Lothian Courier newsletter for the latest West Lothian news and sport.This is the dramatic moment a driver had to be pulled from a Scots river after his car got stuck in the water while apparently trying to cross.The red Suzuki became trapped in the waters of the River Almond near Livingston at 3.30pm on Saturday.The driver was forced to get help after the vehicle became stuck with a French bulldog inside.Photographs taken from a footpath nearby show the driver behind the wheel of the car, before wading out into the water.It is not clear why the driver was trying to cross the river in his car.He can be seen desperately trying to attach tow cables to the front of the stricken vehicle so another motorist could pull.
