I got up and looked out and saw a huge fire roaring up the side of the building. "We grabbed Ben and we left the building."Once the family made it to safety outside they watched as the fire spread, with parts of the building falling off.He continued: "We were cold and it was emotional, we weren't going to watch our home burn.
We got a taxi to my cousin's. The outpouring of support since has been mind-blowing."We're both full time workers and we have a good network of friends and family in Edinburgh, so we're really grateful for that."The couple currently don't know what damage the blaze has caused to their home or when they will be able to return.John added: "The emergency services were amazing. - the information that was coming and the help we were given at the scene.
