North Lanarkshire Council is reviewing their partnership with Clyde FC in light of David Goodwillie's move back to the club.

The controversial move comes after major public outcry and a backlash from Raith Rovers supporters and sponsors after the club signed him earlier this year.Following a U-turn from the club, Goodwillie is now back at Clyde on loan but this has also sparked outrage among fans and politicians.North Lanarkshire Council has since released a statement following the news and said they 'utterly condemn' violence against women.

The statement said: "In light of Clyde Football Club’s announcement confirming the return of David Goodwillie, we are reviewing all our commercial partnership arrangements with the club."We will announce the outcome as soon as all information has been considered and communicated directly with the club."The stadium had previously been under the management of North Lanarkshire Leisure Ltd, a separate entity to the council, but is now directly under council control."The council utterly condemns all and any violence towards, or abuse of, women.
