A cop accused of assaulting her police officer fiancé sobbed in the dock today as she gave evidence at her trial.Lara McAulay said she fell out with her partner, Rangers fan Gordon Dunn, while he was having "a title party" last season.
The 32-year-old, who was working as an acting sergeant at the time, said Police Constable Dunn, 33, downed four bottles of wine, two litres of beer and a gin cocktail on the night in question.
She said he was singing Rangers songs and shouting obscenities about "the pope and the IRA" following Celtic's 2-1 loss to St Mirren at Celtic Park last January. And she said Dunn was being nasty towards her due to how much he'd had to drink.
McAulay was giving evidence at her Glasgow Sheriff Court trial today. She denies assaulting Dunn to his injury by repeatedly punching him on the head at the home they shared in Rutherglen, near Glasgow, on January 30, 2021.
