A care home nurse is being investigated after allegedly bandaging up an elderly man after he had died.Jimmy McGill’s daughter-in-law claims it was obvious the 89-year-old had passed away but the nurse carried on.

The incident is one of nine key complaints to the Nursing and Midwifery Council ( NMC ) made by Amanda Parker relating to Jimmy’s treatment at Golfhill Nursing Home, in Dennistoun, Glasgow.

Amanda, 44, also claims former plater Jimmy was denied painkillers in the days leading up to his death on January 3.And her complaint to the NMC alleges that a nurse fobbed her off by saying she had called for a doctor when she hadn’t.

Jimmy had suffered from cellulitis, which led to gangrene and terrible pain in the days before he died. Amanda also claims that his room was used to store bags of rubbish and that he was left in a state of distress and squalor in his final days. She said: “The sequence that was played out when the nurse tried to insist that Jimmy was alive was beyond belief.“I walked in on her when she was bandaging his legs, which were in the air.
