Scots bakery owner devastated after robbers smash window and steal till
dailyrecord.co.ukA bakery owner has been left devastated after thieves smashed their way into the shop and stole the till. The Honeybee Bakery on Station Road in Milngavie was targeted by the heartless crooks on Sunday, January 15.
Owner Vittoria Capaldi was alerted to the break-in by a concerned resident at roughly 8.30pm after they heard two loud bangs coming from the store.
The 28-year-old rushed to the shop, where she found a window had been smashed and the till and cash had been taken. Vittoria was forced to close the business while she and staff cleared up the mess of the break-in.
She said the clear-up cost her team a day's sales, which has been especially tough to deal with due to the cost-of-living crisis.Speaking to Glasgow Live, Vittoria said: "It happened around 8.30pm when there will still people around.
