Ayr on Tuesday night. Police officers raced to the incident on Wellington Square just before 11pm as they emphasised attacks on emergency services would not be tolerated.
The Scottish Ambulance Service head of service in Ayrshire and Arran, John Burnham, tweeted about the attack and said five members of his team were subjected to "very challenging behaviour" while responding to the incident.
He thanked Police Scotland for their quick response.The post said: "Ambulance personnel do an amazing job in often difficult and challenging circumstances."They do it because they care.
