Scotland snow maps show weekend white out as Arctic blast to hit in days

Scotland is set to be hit with snow in just a matter of days, according to new weather maps.Predictions by WXCharts show purple covering much of the north-west of Scotland on Friday, March 22.

This includes areas such as Fort William, Portree and Inverness.According to the Mirror, as much as 2cm of snowfall is predicted per hour forecast in some parts of western Scotland and Northern Ireland.

The Pennines and some central areas of Wales will also be hit.As well as snowfall for Friday, the weekend will also see snow.

Further predictions show that more parts of Scotland - edging further south towards Glasgow - will see snowfall from as early as 3am on March 23.After several days of largely mild weather, James Madden from Exacta Weather said Arctic air from the north is to cause the sudden chilly feel - and warned that snow could begin as early as Friday.
