He played for Manchester United, Preston North End, Real Madrid, Milan, LA Galaxy, Paris Saint-Germain and the England national team, for which he held the appearance record for an outfield player until 2016. Nicola Sturgeon provided an update on the way in which Scotland's vaccine pass scheme will work, including which venues will be required to carry out checks.

Proof of vaccination will only be required for certain venues and events and there will of course be some exemptions for those unable to provide a vaccine pass.

Today's update provided detail on which venues will be classed as 'nightclubs' and require vaccine checks as well as detailings the different approaches to be taken based on event size.

Here is everything we know so far. Everyone over the age of 18 will be required to provide proof of covid vaccination under the new scheme.
