Scotland's most affordable streets by city where homes sell for less than £60k

As house prices continue to soar across the country, reaching record highs over the last year, it is getting harder and harder to afford a new home.

The average house price in Scotland now costs an eye-watering £177,166. Figures from the UK House Price Index show the price is a 14.6% rise in July 2020 and a 2% increase from June of the same year.With that in mind, when it comes to a city by city comparison, how can you find the most affordable streets to live on?

Looking at the average house prices across Scotland, a new tool by Property Solvers has found the streets where the lowest-priced homes on average are located.

With houses coming in at below the £50k mark, these streets are the most affordable to live on if you want to get onto the property ladder.When it comes to the Granite City, Minister Lane and Summer Street in the city centre were among the cheapest places to buy houses, with Minister Lane having an average of £24,000 per house and Summer Street around £28k.Close to the Torry area of the city, Craig Place was next in value with prices of £36,869 and nearby Menzies Road was averaging just £37,623.In Dundee, there were a few options that kept the price below £50k, with houses on Speckled Wood Court averaging just under £25k while nearby Poplar Grey Court has an average of £27,000.Mid Road close to the city's two famous football clubs is the next most affordable with prices around £35,500.The capital is much harder to find affordable housing, with no streets around the city centre being under the £50k mark, the closest being Restalrig Park in Restalrig with an average of £53,416.After that, the closest is Burdiehouse Drive with prices averaging £65,906.Scotland's biggest city is often considered to have many
