UK Government presses ahead with its planned migration reforms, a new report has warned.The number of people heading to the country to find work could drop by half - leaving some industries facing the prospect of not being able to fill jobs.The UK Government wants to bring in a law that migrants must have secured a job paying at least £25,600 per annum before they can settle in the country.But an independent expert group commissioned by the Scottish Government has warned that such a salary requirement would discriminate against female migrants who would only be able to access around 37% of available jobs.It's estimated that 53% of roles filled by employees in Scotland earn less than £25,000, including up to 90% of jobs in the care.
