Saddleworth School and St Thomas' Leesfield C of E Primary School were both forced to shut their doors today (October 11), with pupils told to stay at home.

A number of homes are also thought to have been affected in the area with no water or low water pressure. In an update on Wednesday afternoon, United Utilities said that the issue was started due to a burst main on Hartshead Street, in Lees.
