Schoolboy 'beaten with baseball bat' suffers fractured eye socket during incident

A dad has described the severe injuries his teenage son has been left with after he was allegedly beaten with a baseball bat.

Cameron Cowie, 14, was in a park with friends when he was approached by eight other youths. One allegedly demanded a £120 NVLTY jacket that Cameron was wearing during the incident in Staffordshire - but he refused to give it to them, Birmingham Live reports.It's claimed the youth was then passed a baseball bat and allegedly attacked Cameron.The schoolboy has been left with a fractured eye socket and bleeding on the eye following the incident.Cameron's dad Kyle Cowie, 37, said a woman from a nearby house ran outside and to Cameron's aid.

He was rushed to hospital following the incident at a park near Heron Drive at around 8.55pm on April 14, and went to A&E.

Staffordshire Police has launched an investigation and arrested a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of wounding with intent. He remained in custody today, April 28.
