The school day could be made longer or the summer holidays changed to help kids catch up, it has been claimed. Ministers are discussing extending the school day so that children who have missed out on vital teaching during lockdown can be put up to speed.
The Prime minister is being pressed to consider after-school classes that would be run by volunteers, according to The Sun. Education Committee chair Robert Halfon told the paper that ministers were discussing the idea.
