Sarah Lancashire joins Keira Knightley and Ben Whishaw in new Netflix spy drama
manchestereveningnews.co.ukTV favourite Sarah Lancashire is joining Keira Knightley and Ben Wishaw for a new Netflix spy thriller. The streaming giant confirmed in April that Black Doves, from The Lazarus Project's Joe Barton, was on the way - with Pirates of the Caribbean star Knightley attached.
Now they've revealed that Happy Valley and former Coronation Street star Lancashire, from Oldham, will also be starring. The six-part series, which does not yet have an official release date, sees Knightley take on the role of Helen Webb - a dedicated wife and mother who also happens to be a professional spy.
The drama, which is set in London during Christmas, centres on Helen as she shares her politician husband's secrets with her spy organisation. Lancashire plays Helen's boss Reed, who calls in Helen's old friend Sam - played by This Is Going To Hurt's Ben Wishaw - to protect her.
