Sarah Harding’s mum attended the first of Girls Aloud’s three shows in Manchester on Thursday night (May 23) as the band paid tribute to their former bandmate.
The girl group performed at the AO Arena as part of their The Girls Aloud Show tour, which has been billed as a celebration of not only the band’s 22-year legacy but to also remember Sarah, who passed away at the age of 39 in September 2021 after being diagnosed with terminal breast cancer.
During the show, the band paid fitting tribute to the singer and thanked the crowd for helping them get through the emotional show.
Speaking to the crowd, Cheryl said: “She would have been so proud of the reception we've had in here tonight, thank you so much Manchester for making it special for her, and for us.” READ MORE: Girls Aloud at AO Arena - seating plan, set times, setlist, parking and everything you need to know Cheryl also gave a shout out on stage to Sarah’s mum, Marie, who was attending the concert alongside the singer’s friend and radio DJ Greg Burns.
