Santa Barbara ‘Lake Fire’ Now At 34,000 Acres Burned, Michael Jackson’s ‘Neverland Ranch’ Spared

deadline.comThe Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office issued new evacuation orders and warnings today for the Lake Fire, which has grown to more than 34,000 acres overnight and remains at 16 percent containment.
The new evacuation zones can be viewed on the county’s evacuation map. Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch was among the structures initially threatened.
TMZ reports firefighters were able to beat back the flames with a beefed-up presence. A damage assessment is currently underway on the sprawling property.
TMZ reported that no major damage is apparent. BusinessmanRon Burkle purchased Neverland in 2020 for $22 million. Approximately 2,166 people have been either warned or ordered to evacuate because of the fire, which began on July 5.
