Sam Smith made a major statement as they made their catwalk debut on the runway during the Vivienne Westwood Womenswear Fall/Winter 2024-2025 show as part of Paris Fashion Week on 2 March in Paris. The 31-year-old Stay With Me singer, who identifies as non-binary, strutted their stuff in a tartan one-piece with a pale green top, whilst they wore more tartan around their arms. They also donned a pair of Scottish-inspired socks and teetered down the runway in towering platform heels. There was more tartan in Sam's elaborate headdress which featured black gauze that dropped down in front of their face.

Underneath Sam's eyes was some green face paint. Sam had a serious expression on their face as they walked with a staff during the show.

Fans were blown away by Sam's look, with some even comparing them to William Wallace from the 1995 Mel Gibson film Braveheart. "Can't wait to see Braveheart (The Remake)," one fan joked. "Auditions taking place as we speak, apparently with Sam Smith going for the lead role of William Wallace!!" Another wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter: "If they re-made Braveheart today." Meanwhile, someone else on X tweeted: "Braveheart sequel on Netflix," along with an emoji of a side-eye.

In February, Sam was spotted cosying up to boyfriend Christian Cowan during a recent outing in New York City. As the couple stepped out in the Big Apple on February 8, the Stay With Me singer cut a fashionable figure. They donned a striking blue skirt, leather boots, a small crossbody bag and a grey blazer.
