BBC One’s Morning Live is getting three new presenters ahead of a permanent move to Manchester city centre. Joining co-hosts Kym Marsh and Gethin Jones of the popular daytime show will be hockey player Sam Quek, former Girls Aloud singer Kimberley Walsh and BBC Radio 2 presenter Sara Cox.

The show will move to its new Manchester home at ABC Buildings on Quay Street from February 21, where it will air live on BBC One every weekday morning from 9.15am. Rav Wilding and Janette Manrara also regularly take on hosting duties. Morning Live experts include Dr Xand van Tulleken, Dr Punam Krishan, Jacqui Joseph, Dr Rupy Aujla, Dom Littlewood, Anna Haugh, Will Kirk, Wayne Perrey, Mark Lane and James Greenwood.

Sam Quek says: “I’m excited as we’ll be four female presenters who all hail from the North West. It’s like a northern powerhouse of women on TV every weekday morning! “I’m from The Wirral and I’m so pleased that the move means we’ll be able to travel to not only Manchester, but other places like Liverpool and Leeds. “We’ll be able to bring viewers a feeling for what’s going on around the UK.” Morning Live, which BBC said has ‘consistently achieved slot winning figures’ averaging 1.2m viewers daily, originally filmed at BBC Studios in London before moving to MediaCityUK in Salford in January.
