Sam Elliott Slams 'The Power of the Dog' & Calls It a 'Piece of S--t'

There’s all these allusions of homosexuality throughout the movie.” He also questioned why director Jane Campion had made the film. “What the f–k does this woman from down there [Campion, who is from New Zealand] know about the American west?
Why the f–k did she shoot this movie in New Zealand and call it Montana? And say this is the way it was?” He did, however, call her a “brilliant director,” going on to discuss “the myth is that [cowboys] were these macho men out there with cattle.” “I just came from Texas where I was hanging out with families – not men – but families.
