Sally Dynevor changed name to her husband's after his help in cancer battle

Dancing On Ice star explained how she realised she wanted to change her maiden name, Whittaker, to Tim’s.Sally and Tim have recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary and the couple have stuck together through the hardships of her cancer battle.The Coronation Street star was diagnosed with breast cancer and after going into remission in 2009 she decided to change her name.She told OK!

Magazine about the move in 2018: “I’d kept Whittaker because everyone knew me as that but it suddenly didn’t seem very important...“I want to be Mrs Dynevor and not Sally Whittaker.Tim was really pleased.

I just wanted to have the same name as my family."Sally described herself as “lucky” as her husband was “strong” throughout her cancer battle.She explained how Tim’s positive mindset helped her remain optimistic about the process.Speaking to The Big Issue in January, Sally said: “I was very lucky during that time of having cancer, because my husband is really strong.“And he would say, we’re going to make this into a positive time.“After chemo, we’re going to go for walks, or we’re going to watch this box set.“We’re going to enjoy the time that we have just relaxing and not worrying about anything.”The actress continued: “I suppose it was the first time that I really took my foot off the pedal and gave myself time to do nothing.“Which is actually much more important than doing something.“We do need time to find ourselves and come to terms with things in a slow way.”Sally and Tim share three children, including Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor.Speaking on Loose Women back in 2020, Sally described her reaction upon finding out her diagnosis, which came as she was doing research for her Corrie character's own cancer battle.She admitted.
