Ian St John sadly passed away on Tuesday morning, following a lengthy battle with illness, and Alan Dick recalls the moment fondly.He said: “Greavsie especially had a very soft spot for Accies and frequently mentioned us on air.“It was before the days of Sky or anything like that, so it was excellent to get a plug now and again from him.“I think he took Accies as his favourite Scottish team because Ian St John was obviously Motherwell, to have the rivalry, which was primarily Lanarkshire based.“Saint was a former Motherwell player, manager and Scotland cap, and Greavsie felt Accies were the main rival, although it was probably Airdrie at the time, but in terms of locality the rivalry was certainly Hamilton, and it just took off from.
