The event comes in the wake of Crabtree-Ireland’s appearance at San Diego Comic-Con, soon after the actors strike began in mid-July, where he led a panel for voiceover actors, discussing their rights, as well as a pitstop at the Toronto International Film Festival where he had both a sitdown, and a teamed picket with Canada’s commercial actors who’ve been suffering a long contract lockout.
The news of Crabtree-Ireland’s NYCC appearance in ten days is, of course, coming as the SAG-AFTRA Chief Negotiator is today back at the bargaining table with the CEO Gang of Four –Universal’s Donna Langley, Disney’s Bob Iger, Warner Bros’ David Zaslav and Netflix’s Ted Sarandos– in pursuit of a new three-year contract that could end the actors’ guild over-80 day long strike.
