Sacha Lord has urged the government to 'stave off' speculation over its plans to ban smoking in beer gardens. The former Parklife and Warehouse Project boss has raised concerns about a new smoking ban which could affect pubs, restaurants and clubs.

It comes after leaked government plans seen by The Sun suggested a new smoking ban could be applied in outdoor spots. This would include pub gardens, outdoor restaurant seating and open-air spaces at nightclubs, according the newspaper.

The new law would also apply to areas outside universities, hospitals, sports grounds, children's play areas and small parks, The Sun has reported.
