S Club star Jon Lee has revealed the real reason the band had to cancel the second show of their much-anticipated reunion tour just hours before they were set to take to the stage.
The group kicked off their Good Times Tour at Manchester’s AO Arena on Thursday night (October 12). The string of nationwide shows, which is being held to coincide with their 25th anniversary but was rebranded following the tragic death of star Paul Cattermole, was then set to continue with the band performing at Liverpool’s M&S Bank Arena on Friday evening (October 13).
In a statement posted on Instagram just hours before they were due to hit the stage, S Club - made up of Jon, Rachel Stevens, Bradley McIntosh, Jo O'Mera and Tina Barrett - wrote: "S Clubbers, we're beyond devastated to announce that tonight's show in Liverpool has had to be postponed by the venue, due to them having an unforeseen technical issue impacting their power supply and therefore your safety. Especially as we know so many of you have travelled great distances to join us tonight. but your safety is our priority always." The band and the venue then confirmed that the show has already been rescheduled to Monday, October 30.
