Ryanair pilot and co-pilot killed in M62 horror crash while taking taxi to airport

Two men who died after a horrific crash between two lorries and a car on the M62 were senior Ryanair crew members, it has been confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the major collision on the westbound carriageway at around 5.30am yesterday (June 11). Police were forced to close the motorway throughout the day.

Two men, who were inside the car, tragically died at the scene. The driver of the car was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. They were travelling to Liverpool Airport in a taxi when the collision occurred at 5.31am. In a statement Cheshire Constabulary said: "The car was in collision with two lorries on the westbound carriageway between junction 8 and junction 7.
