The boss of budget airline Ryanair has said that without an extension or replacement for furlough, pilots and cabin crew will be put on unpaid leave "for the winter".
Speaking on Sky News, he said with flights operating at as little as 30% capacity, the money simply wasn't there to pay them. "We want to keep our pilots and our cabin crew employed and paid, but we're going to have to have huge Government assistance for that," he said. "Otherwise I'm afraid they're all going to have to go on unpaid leave for the winter." He also refused to confirm he wouldn't be sacking more staff.
