The Hibs defender earned his first senior international cap in the crucial Nations League fixture in Krakow, and played a vital role in securing the goalless draw that saw Steve Clarke 's side top group B1 and guarantee a Euro 2024 play off and moves the country up to second seeds.
The 23-year-old's heroic display was topped off by an inch-perfect tackle on Oleksandr Zubkov as the Ukraine sub let fly in the final moments of the draw, to help secure the all-important clean sheet.
Despite the display, Porteous reckons some Scottish football fans were hoping to see the team lose when Clarke picked him to start at the back for the national side.
