Ryan Giggs has admitted he ‘can’t resist women’ and ‘has never been faithful’ as he took to the witness box at the start of his defence case.
The 48-year-old former Manchester United star is on trial accused of headbutting his ex-partner Kate Greville, elbowing her sister Emma on the same date and of behaving in a controlling or coercive manner towards his former girlfriend between August 2017 and November 2020.
He has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is standing trial at Manchester Crown Court. On the afternoon of day seven, Mr Giggs took to the witness box and gave evidence relating to his career in football and how he met Ms Greville.
Under questioning by his barrister, Christopher Daw QC, it was put to him that he was well known ‘all over the world’ for two things, namely his career in football and his ‘reputation for infidelity’, jurors heard. READ MORE: Mr Daw said: “You’re well known all over the world for two things, firstly you are known for your ability and career as in football.” Mr Giggs said: “Yes.” His barrister continued: “You have a reputation for infidelity, what the newspapers call being a love cheat?”.
