Cambuslang after testing positive for covid-19 was due to the illness making her "act out of character". Ms Ferrier had been asked to quit by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, the SNP's Westminster leader Ian Blackford and numerous other colleagues to stand down from her post.
But in an interview with the Scottish Sun she has revealed she will not leave the post, which includes an £82,000 a year salary.
She claimed: "I’m continuing to work hard. A lot of people say Covid makes you do things out of character. You are not thinking straight.
I’m not making an excuse.“At that moment when I thought it would come back negative and it was positive I was utterly shocked.
