The recall petition determining whether Margaret Ferrier will lose her Rutherglen & Hamilton West seat has now closed – with the MP and constituents set to find out the outcome tonight.Voters have had six weeks to sign papers calling for the politician to lose her seat after being sanctioned at Westminster for her Covid rule breaches three years ago, and a by-election will be called if the threshold of 8113 supporters is reached.The signing period ended at 5pm on Monday and the signatures will then be counted at South Lanarkshire Council headquarters on Tuesday afternoon and the result shared online after the Speaker of the House of Commons has been officially informed.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
