Rutherglen boxing joy as Kyle McNeil makes Scottish Intermediate Championship showpiece

Rutherglen boxing club Durie’s ABC pair Lewis Connolly and Kyle McNeil competed at the Scottish Intermediate Championship over the weekend - with McNeil through to the final.It’s the first time Durie’s ABC have had representation at the event - which this year was held at Ravenscraig - in over two years and a strong display was put up by both fighters.Connolly was in action on Saturday against Shah Hussain of Edinburgh, but things didn’t work out as anticipated.Hussain took the first two rounds in quick fashion before winning 4-1 by a split decision.There was better news for McNeil, who has reached the final after a comfortable win over Ross Hutchison.
