Reformer spoke to several parents who were frustrated at the decision, and said they had been assured months ago this would not happen.
One parent, who did not wish to be named, said: “This was raised as an issue months ago when it became clear the impact the coronavirus was having, and we were told it would not be a problem.“Everyone understands why the council are having to do things like this, but it has been handled poorly.“Some of the students could have gone to university this year if they had wanted, but didn’t as they were expecting to study the Advanced Highers.”Trinity High, Stonelaw High and Cathkin High all offer various Advanced Highers, but certain subjects are only available at some, or one of the schools.For example Cathkin.
