Ruth Langsford is taking a 'step back' from Loose Women amid her split with Eamonn Holmes after 14 years of marriage and a total of 27 years together.

On Saturday, 25 May, it was announced by a representative for the pair that they were going their separate ways.They share a 22 year old son, named Jack.

The statement said: “Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes have confirmed their marriage is over and they are in the process of divorcing.” The Sun reported that amid the news, Ruth will not appear on Loose Women this week, where she often anchors the show.

By contrast, Eamonn is expected to return to his slot on GB news as normal. It's said that he will address the split when he's back on our screens on Monday, 27 May.
