However, in the final episode, while everyone was preparing for Nessa and Dave Coaches' wedding, Stacey broke the good news to Gavin who proudly declared: "My balls work!" The Christmas special in 2019 revealed that the couple were now parents to a son and two daughters.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the festive special in 2019, Ruth Jones explained the meaning behind the names Harri, Caitlin and Megan.
She said: "It was a little nod to Pam's love of the royal family, we wanted it to be transferred through Gavin into their name choices." As well as the Royal family, writers Ruth Jones and James Corden also drew inspiration from notorious serial killers for character names - Fred and Rose West, Peter Sutcliffe, and Harold Shipman, as Gavin's family's surname is Shipman, and Stacey's is West. The character of Pete Sutcliffe (played by Adrian Scarborough) was first introduced in the 2008 Christmas special.
