supermarket that has been dubbed the Russian Lidl is aiming to open more than 300 stores across the UK within the next decade - including some in Scotland.
Mere is seeking to open a raft of supermarkets across the country as it seeks to compete with budget giants Aldi and Lidl. The brand was first established in Siberia in 2009 and has since opened branches in European countries such as Germany, Poland and Romania.
And the wheels are in motion on a UK store to open this summer, with a branch in Preston set to welcome customers from mid-July.
