Some of RTÉ’s biggest names are due to take a pay cut as the troubled State broadcaster seeks tens of millions in savings. Presenters Mary Wilson and Bryan Dobson are expected to see their salaries reduced by over €10,000 each.
Dobson earned €209,282 in both 2018 and 2019, while Mary Wilson took home €196,961 in 2019. They, and others earning above €160,000, will have their salaries cut by 5.35 per cent.
That would see a pay reduction of €11,197 for Dobson and €10,537 for Wilson, bringing their salaries down to €198,085 and €186,424 respectively.
However, other ordinary workers at the broadcaster, earning as little as €40,000, will also have to take a pay cut, while a redundancy scheme will see up to 70 jobs lost.
