Ahead of the Cheltenham Gold Cup Day, experts sent a stark warning to people attending the horse racing's flagship event as a leading psychotherapist and couple’s therapist, Helen Villiers, revealed Cheltenham is an event like no other for producing dopamine, which can lead to more people having affairs.
Dopamine can be released through exercise, food - and even orgasms. But the chemical is also released in the brain when you win money.
Thanks to horse racing’s intrinsic link with having a bet, Helen believes Cheltenham Festival and finale of the climax of the week is the “optimum climate” for thrill-seekers to hook-up.
