Traditionally, a possum skin cloak was a clothing item they once wore on a daily basis and it holds cultural significance today.
More possum skins were added as a person grew older and bigger. The Australians of course would have to give him something to do with surfing and so Prince George also got a custom built six-foot surfboard worth £2,200 and designed by Bennett Surfboards.
The city of Darwin even gave the prince a newborn crocodile that was hatched the day his conception was announced. Fortunately for guests in the royal residences, George the Royal Crocodile still lives at Crocosaurus Cove in Darwin.
