According to former Tory MP and podcaster Gyles Brandreth, the Royal Family has a succinct six-word response for anyone who brings up Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.
He reveals that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's names "do not crop up very often" in Royal circles these days. However, when they do, courtiers swiftly attempt to steer the conversation away from the couple.This comes after Harry and Meghan decided to step back from their roles as working royals and relocated to Montecito, California, USA, in 2020.
Their relationship with the rest of the Royal Family has been fraught since then, with the pair making numerous allegations about them in interviews with Oprah Winfrey, their Netflix series, and in Harry's memoir Spare.In his book Voyage Around the Queen, author Craig Brown recounts Lord Snowdon once stating that "the Royal Family is quite good at blanking out anything unpleasant or uncomfortable".
Brown suggests this is a tactic they have had to use more frequently since Harry and Meghan's departure. Brandreth, in 2022, noted: "These days, the names of Harry and Meghan, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, do not crop up very often in court circles.", reports the Express.
