Steven George Gerrard MBE (born 30 May 1980) is an English professional football manager and former player who manages Scottish Premiership club Rangers.
He spent the majority of his playing career as a central midfielder for Liverpool, with most of that time spent as club captain, as well as captaining the England national team. Widely regarded as one of the greatest midfielders of all time,
Gerrard was awarded the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year award in 2005, and the Ballon d'Or Bronze Award. In 2009, Zinedine Zidane and Pelé said that they considered Gerrard to be the best footballer in the world.
Ross McCrorie has claimed that Michael Beale is one of the best coaches he has worked with in football. He is hoping, however, Jim Goodwin and Aberdeen can do a number on his Rangers team when they travel to Pittodrie tomorrow night.
The Dons star worked under Beale when he was first at Ibrox, as a first-team coach under Steven Gerrard. The 24-year-old is adamant that he helped him and a lot of his Rangers teammates at the time improve massively under his unique coaching style. That was why Gerrard headhunted him from the Liverpool academy and made him one of the main men in his coaching team at Rangers and then Aston Villa.
Beale is now back as the main man and is desperately attempting to lift his Light Blues and to help them claw back Celtic in the title race.
Aberdeen also have their own aims as they are looking to strengthen their grip on third place and bounce back from the disappointment of their late Celtic defeat at Pittodrie on Saturday.
