Ronan Keating has shared the name he wants to go by instead of 'grandad' following the birth of his first grandchild. The Boyzone star, 47, spoke out on becoming a grandad for the first time on The One Show on 20 March, after his eldest son Jack, 24, who he shares with ex-wife Yvonne Connolly, announced the arrival of his first child on 9 March.
On Monday's instalment of the BBC One show, Ronan's co-host Jermaine Jenas referred to him as "grandad", prompting the singer to confirm: "Yes I am, my son had a gorgeous baby." Jermaine, 40, then revealed that Ronan won't be called grandad, prompting the Boyzone star to reveal what he wants to be called by his granddaughter. "Uh, pops, we'll go with that, perfect," proud granddad Ronan, who also shares daughter Missy, 22, with ex-wife Yvonne, said.
Jack, who appeared on Love Island 2022 as a Casa Amor bombshell, announced the arrival of his baby daughter on 9 March after keeping the fact he was expecting his first child a secret from fans.
He shared a sweet black and white snap of him holding his newborn daughter on Instagram, and wrote: "Welcome to the world my little [princess emoji]." The new dad has since opened up about the arrival of his daughter, revealing he is already "besotted" with her and is not in a relationship with her mother.
