Röyksopp is kicking off the year with a brand new album! Following the surprise release of their ambient album Nebulous Nights (An Ambient Excursion into Profound Mysteries) at the end of 2024, the electronic duo announced a new album called True Electric, due out on April 11.

The electronic group is launching their announcement with “What Else Is There?” featuring Fever Ray, a new version of the classic Röyksopp track from their 2005 album, The Understanding.

The accompanying Stian Andersen-directed visualizer was recorded on location at the band’s 2023 True Electric show in Athens, Greece. Keep reading to find out more… True Electric features 19 studio versions of the music from their True Electric tour in 2023, featuring previously unreleased track “The ‘R’” as well as reworked versions of originals and remixes from their discography, including Robyn collaboration “Do It Again” and “Running To The Sea” featuring Susanne Sundfør, as well as several tracks from their Profound Mysteries three album project released throughout 2022. “True Electric consists of recordings and renditions, meant to capture the essence of our live shows bearing the same name.

The idea was to put an emphasis on the clubbier aspects of our music, as well as returning to our roots within the realms of electronic music,” Svein and Torbjørn said in a statement. Röyskopp have also announced nine new dates across the U.S, as part of their DJ world tour, including stops in New York City and Los Angeles.
