Rochelle Humes heaps praise on Phillip Schofield after This Morning's 30-second goodbye

Following the departure of Phillip Schofield from This Morning, Rochelle Humes has paid tribute to her former co-host. On Saturday, Philip, 61, announced that was stepping away from This Morning with immediate effect, amid reports of a huge feud with co-host Holly Willoughby, 42.

Holly has taken a break from the show and will return in June, leaving popular duo Alison Hammond, 48, and Dermot O'Leary, 49, to host Monday's episode.The hosts addressed Phil's exit at the opening of the show, saying: "Quite simply, we all know he’s one of the best live television broadcasters this country has ever had, and we and all the team wish him all the best for the future." The brief goodbye took just 30 seconds for the pair to deliver – and then, it was business as usual for the show.

After the episode aired, The Saturdays singer Rochelle, 34, paid tribute to Phillip. Sharing three snaps of herself and the star on screen together, Rochelle said: "I’ve proudly been a part of the This Morning family for almost 10 years and over the last few, it has been an absolutely pleasure learning so much from you. ‘Thanks for all the lessons – you’re a fountain of love, knowledge and laughter." Rochelle's tribute came after This Morning chef Clodagh McKenna was praised by fans for being "the only person" to pay tribute to Phillip following the news.

On Instagram, Clodagh shared a snap of her with Phillip with the sweet caption: "21 years of brightening up our mornings…. And I’ve been so lucky to be part of 3 of them. "I’ll miss the morning hug, the twinkle in your eye that makes me giggle and your empathy.” Phillip's last show on This Morning aired on Thursday.
