Twenty council seats were up for grabs in the wards Balderstone & Kirkholt, Bamford, Castleton, Central Rochdale, East Middleton, Healey, Hopwood Hall, Kingsway, Littleborough Lakeside, Milkstone & Deeplish, Milnrow & Newhey, Norden, North Heywood, North Middleton, Smallbridge & Firgrove, South Middleton, Spotland & Falinge, Wardle, Shore & West Littleborough, West Heywood and West Middleton.

Mayoral elections took place in East Midland, Greater Manchester, Liverpool City Region, North East, South Yorkshire, West Midlands, West Yorkshire, York and North Yorkshire, London and Salford.
There were also police and crime commissioner elections across England and Wales - but not in Greater Manchester, London, North Yorkshire, South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.
