Robson Green speaks out on his battle with drink and drugs at height of his fame

Robson Green has spoken out for the very first time on how he struggled with drinks and drugs while coping with his rising fame.The 56 year old's career in the acting industry began back in 1989 when he took on the role of Jimmy Powell in Casualty, but it wasn't until he starred in Soldier Soldier that he was plunged into stardom.

However, during his time playing several characters in the series, he ended up in a "very dark place" and sought out therapy after his dad, also called Robson, gave him an intervention. “I was just 26 years old when real fame came knocking at my door with a drama called Soldier Soldier watched by 21 million people," he explained to the Mirror.
