Leo Barraclough International Features Editor American actor, director and producer Robin Wright is to receive the Crystal Nymph Award during the closing ceremony of the 64th edition of the Monte-Carlo Television Festival, which will take place on June 17 at the Grimaldi Forum.
The award, delivered in the presence of Prince Albert II of Monaco, honors “an individual from the television world for their exceptional career and lasting impact on the industry,” the festival said.
Wright rose to fame for her role as Buttercup in “The Princess Bride,” and then established herself as “one of the most talented actresses of her generation,” the festival said.
Her portrayal of Claire Underwood in the series “House of Cards” earned her a Golden Globe and multiple Emmy Award nominations.
